SUGAR & SALT
Sugar and salt in small quantities enrich your food and provide energy. You can't avoid them, but how much do you really need?

What you really need to know about sugar and salt is the topic of a videoconference with dietician Dorothy Moffat on Wednesday, April 12, at 10 a.m., at the Eaton Valley Community Learning Centre, at the far end of the Pope Memorial Elementary School, 523 Stokes, Bury. The videoconference is offered by the CHSSN community Health Education Program (CHEP), funded by Health Canada through the Roadmap for Official Languages 2013-18: Education, Immigration, Official Languages.

STRESS & ANXIETY
Stress is everywhere in our lives. How do we deal with it? Is it bad for us? What are the side effects of prolonged stress? What to do when you are stressed?

Stress, Anxiety and How to Cope is the topic of the next Health Link interactive presentation by Nadine Gallagher, social worker at the Cookshire CLSC. The event is on Wednesday, April 19, at the Armoury Community Centre, 563 Main St., Bury. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by the presentation and a question-and-answer period, ending at 2 p.m. All are free of charge.

"Health Link" is a collaboration between the Eaton Valley CLC, Townshippers' Association and the health & social services in the Haut-Saint-François. This is a CHSSN initiative funded by Health Canada through the Roadmap for Official Languages 2013-18: Education, Immigration, Official Languages.

SUPER FOODS
Celebrate Earth Day with a talk on Super Foods by Daniel Labonté, offered free of charge by the Municipality of Newport. Learn about the power of greens, fruits, nuts, and berries. When? Saturday, April 22, at 10 a.m. Where? At the Municipal Hall of Newport in Island Brook, 1452 Route 212.

SPRING BRUNCH
The Eaton Corner Museum offers its annual Spring Brunch on Sunday, April 23, at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Bulwer Community Centre, 254 Jordan Hill Road, with homemade goodies: pancakes and new maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, scalloped potatoes, baked beans and desserts (if you have room). Music by Jan Graham. Admission is $10/adult; $5/child.

FLEA MARKET
The annual Flea Market/Craft Sale is planned for Saturday, April 29, at the Bury Armoury/Community Center. It is sponsored by the Bury Women's Institute. To rent a table, quickly now: Frances at 819-872-3318 or Irma at 819-872-3600.

VIACTIVE EXERCISES
The bilingual Viactive exercise groups for people age 50-plus have something in common: All four groups meet every Wednesday, are volunteer-led, and are free of charge.

SEED SAVERS
The Sawyerville Community Garden invites gardeners to join the Seed Savers collective, COSMOS. It's an opportunity to learn different techniques for producing, harvesting and saving good organic, OMG-free and non-hybrid seeds. This project aims to protect and save certain varieties of heritage vegetables. Also available for purchase at the Sawyerville Community Garden are gardening tools: 5-tooth or 6-tooth grelinettes, leveling rakes, garlic planters, leek markers, and more. CHURCHES
Anglican. April 9th Sunday worship services are at 9:30 a.m. in Bury and 11 a.m. in Cookshire. The Cookshire service is in the basement of the Trinity United Church, 190 Principale W. April 13th to 15th services are at St. George's Church in Lennoxville, as follows: Maundy Thursday service and vigil on April 13 at 7 p.m.; Good Friday service on April 14 at 11 a.m.; Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 15 at 10 p.m.

Easter Sunday services are on Sunday April 16 at 9:30 a.m. in Bury, and at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church in Cookshire. Info: 819-887-6802.

Baptist. In Sawyerville, the Sunday worship service is at 9 a.m. in French, and 11 a.m. in English. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. in English and French. Info: 819-239-8818.

United. April 9th Palm Sunday worship services are at 9:30 a.m. in Cookshire, at 11 a.m. in Sawyerville, and at 2:30 p.m. at the Bishopton United Church, 54 Main St., Bishopton. On April 13 at 7 p.m. is a Maundy Thursday service in Sawyerville. On April 14 at 10:30 a.m. is a Good Friday service in Cookshire.

On Sunday April 16 at dawn is an Easter Sunrise Service at the Lookout on Route 210 in Eaton Corner. If the weather is inclement, the Sunrise Service will be at the Sawyerville United Church, 42 rue Principale N. A potluck breakfast will follow. At 10:30 a.m. will be a joint Easter Sunday service at the Trinity United Church in Cookshire, with Rev. Martyn Sadler as guest preacher and leading the communion service.
