A team of 12 have built an old-fashioned bread oven at the Sawyerville Community Garden, the old-fashioned way, and now it is busy baking pizza and other tasty treats during the Saturday morning Farmers' Market. After two years of planning, the oven was built on July 30, under the guidance of Marc Blais. "It was super teamwork," said the Garden's president, Chantal Bolduc. Last week, Noël Lanteigne and Jeanette Thériault made pizzas in the oven, using fresh vegetables from the Garden. They sold like hotcakes, so to speak, for $5 each. The Market is on Saturdays until September 26, at 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and pizzas or other freshly baked goods are on sale at the oven from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. "Thanks to all the volunteers and to the CLD for its support," said Bolduc.
